Talent and Performance Management

What differentiates Matus is our drive of a high-performance culture at every level of our business. Individuals, teams and the business is held to the same accountability. High performance is all of our responsibility. Each person is responsible and accountable for their own and their team’s performance, this is supported by sound support in Talent and Performance management.

 

Talent Management: From understanding the job to be done, to recruitment/promotion/transfer we continuously strive to find the best talent for the job to be done. Key to this is developing a talent pipeline for critical roles within the business.

 

Performance Management: Matus is a high-performance driven culture. We drive performance through bi-annual formal performance reviews and monthly/weekly performance discussions. We make sure all teams within the business know and understand the goals and the standards to be achieved and how this links to the overall goal of Matus. Employees are rewarded based on theirs and their team’s performance.

Learning and Development

Learning and development is key to building our people. Our Matus Leadership Academy enrolls middle and senior managers yearly on a Leadership Development Programme. We continuously focus on up-skilling our Sales Force, junior managers and Warehouse teams. Our study-assistance programme assists those who want to further their studies in a field relevant to Matus.

Employee Wellness

Our Employee Wellness Programme offers free counselling and advisory services to all permanent employees and to anyone who lives in the same household as they do.

 

This service is:

  • Continuously Available – 24/7/365 in different languages at no cost to all permanent employees and anyone who lives with them.
  • Confidential
  • Professional. Professional experts gives you the counselling or advice needed.
  • Independent. An external provider is contracted to offer this service to Matus. This ensures confidentiality.

 

The services offered by our Employee Wellness Programme includes:

  • Employee Wellness Ambassadors. These are employees within Matus that employees can speak to for assistance on how to use or access the Employee Wellness services. Ambassadors are trained before they accept this responsibility.
  • Counselling. Counselling is both telephonic and face-to-face and is dependent on the on need.
  • Trauma Counselling
  • HIV Management and support
  • Onsite Patient Nurse
  • Advice and assistance on the following matters:
    • Financial
    • Legal
    • Personal
    • Manager Support –managers can get advice on how to handle difficult conversations with employees.
  • Annual Wellness Days where employees can have screening tests completed and get advice on their wellness management.
